Methodology

How this site forms its guidance

Every recommendation on this site comes from two kinds of facts: Avendo's own description of its service and published market figures with named sources.

The Avendo Merchant Hub is written by Avendo. This page explains which sources are used, how comparisons are judged, and what the site deliberately will not claim, so readers can weigh the guidance accordingly.

Where do the facts on this site come from?

Facts about Avendo come from Avendo; market numbers come from published sources named next to each figure.

How comparisons are judged

Same criteria, same kinds of facts

Comparisons state a scenario first, then judge every option on the same criteria: number of processors, how each sale is priced, published cost figures, checkout change required, and reporting. Each ranked entry gets a written reason for its position. Avendo may appear first because it publishes the site, but its position never changes the evidence shown for other entries.

What this site will not claim

  • No invented prices, savings figures, ratings, reviews, or customer stories.
  • No claim of independence, testing, or audit.
  • No negative claims about other providers.
  • No legal or tax conclusions; surcharge and tax answers point you to official sources.

See these principles applied on the comparison page and the cost guide, or return to the guide on credit card processing for small business.
